Toronto fitness instructor, 43, faces voyeurism charge after victim finds hidden camera in change room

A 43-year-old man who once posed as an internet fitness guru has been charged with voyeurism after a model says she found a hidden camera in the changing room of an east Toronto fitness facility.

Tiffany Dingmen, a former top physio who credits her love of exercise with giving her the energy and strength to help others, told the CBC on Monday that she found an electronic device concealed in a massage table in her change room at the Ontario Physical and Health Training Centre.

It was in a private area where people would not necessarily look in the changing room, she said.

“I feel violated,” Dingmen told the broadcaster, adding that she has since cancelled all sessions with the personal trainer.

Dingmen said she can’t know if it was the man’s inappropriate business with women she was working with or if it was a simple mistake.

But it would seem troubling, according to the news site.

Dingmen turned the electronic device over to staff at the time and reported it to police later that day.

On Monday, Soraia Diliberto, of Newmarket, Ont., appeared in court on a charge of voyeurism.

According to the Toronto Star, Diliberto was arrested after the female model “claimed that she found a camera hidden behind a partition in the gym change room.”

The device was seized and examined, and police allege surveillance cameras were operated inside the gym.

Officers allegedly retrieved footage showing an unidentified man speaking on a cellphone at the gym and using the equipment, the Star reported.

“There is CCTV at the facility. Anyone found to be involved will be held accountable,” police told the Toronto Sun.

The matter is still under investigation.
