Emily Pedersen has the opportunity to go one better than her European Tour debut at the Women’s British Open at Turnberry Emily Pedersen (26) of Denmark has played the Saudi Ladies International Pro-Am at the Abu Dhabi Golf Club on the Ladies European Tour, and will also compete at the Australian Women’s Open, starting on Friday. Pedersen was happy with her week in Abu Dhabi, but wishes she had played better in her Ladies European Tour opener at Turnberry. “Playing the British Open this year was quite overwhelming,” said Pedersen, who made a five-under 66 in her opening round at the Open in July. “I have quite a short swing, so the swing coach, Mark Williamson, tried to improve my release position, and I took a lot out of the British Open. “I’m definitely looking forward to playing at the Australian Open, although the weather has made it difficult here.” Pedersen completed a hat-trick of contributions in Monday’s qualifiers for the Australian Open, where the likes of Amelie Mauresmo, Asot Michael and Maria Senden are due to play in the coming week. Pedersen’s first professional tournament, which she won in Tivoli, will be the Sainsbury’s First Security European Women’s Pro-Am in Portugal in March.
