This week, Sony won a legal battle to go ahead with the release of The Interview. Sony, a company dedicated to all-comers and taking all comers in, finds itself losing yet another court battle: the one it lost to Kim Jong-Un.

As of Sunday night, Hacksaw Ridge had tallied up more than $44 million at the box office. Mind you, the film is on its fourth weekend in release, still.

The war movie The Papers finally opened in select cities on Friday, so for Tom Hanks and his costars to top $3 million on that opening day was a huge win.

And let’s not forget Molly’s Game, Aaron Sorkin’s latest venture with Jessica Chastain and Idris Elba. That film opened on Christmas day and hasn’t been off the screen since. Molly’s Game has raked in $20 million.

And yes, I’m about to say this, Tyler Perry was a box office player this weekend. His PG-13 comedy series A Madea Family Funeral is making headway.

And we come back to Amy Schumer and Tiffany Haddish’s first major foray as leads. Trainwreck 2 did not take off as well as Schumer would have liked, but she can’t complain. It’s her best opening ever!
