Players had an extra spring in their step when wearing Nike’s Air Max 90 during the Major League Baseball season.

Then, Adidas saw a chance and went after that market. In three years’ time, Nike is also poised to be the market leader.

With the world now being able to buy a million different types of cleats, thousands of different jerseys and one million different pairs of shoes, it’s a wonder we still ever use field equipment.

Some teams still insist players must wear pants that tighten when they run. And we were supposed to just live with that when we use the private jet?

But I guess when we can have that level of customization from pillows to coverts, then no-one will complain.

Or they just won’t.
